Carisa is a Licensed Master Social Worker who has been with Courageous Hearts since January 2023. She received her Master of Social Work from the University of Texas, with a Children and Families concentration. Carisa works with children and adults, providing psychotherapy and facilitating groups. Carisa offers traditional in-office and telehealth therapy, equine-assisted psychotherapy, canine-assisted psychotherapy, and various nature-based therapeutic interventions. She is in the process of becoming Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) certified.

 

Carisa is experienced and passionate about practicing social work through a neurodivergent-affirming lens. Carisa combines her patient, playful, and creative traits into therapy, tailoring each session to meet client needs and goals. 

 

Outside of work, Carisa enjoys time in nature with her family and two dogs. Her dog, Daisy, is in training to become a Certified Therapy Dog!
